Celebrity photographer Terry O’Neill on Chelsea, LA and why you can’t beat the English countryside.
"London will always be my home. I was brought up in Heston, out to the west, but I’ve lived all over this wonderful city — Warwick Avenue, Mayfair. One of my favourite flats was in Chelsea, just off Sydney Street, back in the 1960s. I was surrounded by painters, musicians, actors and artists. Swinging London is what they called it.
The funny thing is, when you’re living through something like that, you don’t really notice what’s happening. I was too busy working my arse off, trying to get people interested in my pictures."
