A hidden gem in Portobello, once known as the ‘Taj Mahal of North Kensington’, this cultural activities centre is housed in a retired 19th century church very close to Portobello Road.

There are various activity areas including a large central space that hosts a wide range of performances and exhibitions. There is also an informal bar/restaurant.

During KCAW, there are a range of classes and activities taking place at the Tabernacle. These include the Portobello Dance School, a popular weekend destination offering children from to adults training in Classical Ballet, Tap, Street and Salsa; GLUE - (G)uided (L)earning, (U)niting and (E)ducating - a social arts programme providing free workshops for young people aged 5-16; and Mangrove Steelpan classes, a great way to learn a new skill and be involved in the carnival atmosphere all year round.
