Then, on the 26 June, join us for St John’s Patronal Festival, a festive service for the Feast day of our patron saint. We welcome the Ven Richard Frank as our preacher. St John’s Singers, under the direction of Toby Ward, are joined by “Arculo”, the Consort of Viols. The music has been chosen in honour of the Platinum Jubilee and features music from the reigns of the two Queens Elizabeth. No booking is required.
Lastly, on 2 July, come and join us at St John’s for a tour of one of Kensington’s most remarkable buildings. St John’s, built between 1880-1910 is largely as conceived and completed by its two architects, Brooks and Adkins. Holding probably the largest collection of sculpture by John Taylerson, the church is a tour de force of late Victorian and Edwardian architecture. The tour will involve walking around the building, most of which is wheelchair accessible, with an opportunity to view some of the fabulous textiles
and vestments not usually on display. Each tour includes refreshments.
