Russian composer Modeste Mussorgsky wrote Pictures at an Exhibition in 1874, inspired by a visit to an exhibition commemorating his artist friend Victor Hartmann. Each of the ten numbers of the suite is a musical picture inspired by an individual work by Hartmann.
In a dancing whirl of creative colour Russian artist Eugenie Vronskaya reverses the creative process and reimagines the music on canvas in real time, while Peter Cowdrey plays Mussorgsky’s spectacular original score on the piano.
