Local artist Azarra Amoy celebrates local neurodiversity people and their contribution to the arts and sciences in South Kensington, through a series of kaleidoscopic artworks enlivening Exhibition Road.

For this installation, Amoy uses a kaleidoscopic spectrum of colours to represent the uniqueness of an individual’s neurodiversity, based on real-life stories and portraits of scientists, and students working at the world famous institutions located on Exhibition Road.

Kaleidoscopic Minds was co-curated by KCAW for the boroughwide Art Trail with Exhibition Road Cultural Group partners, and opens for the Great Exhibition Road Festival.

A Graduate of the University of the Arts London, Amoy is a visual thinker; her practice can be defined in three strands: artist, designer and creative strategist, which overlap allowing her to bring her design-led ideas, concepts and solutions to a variety of creative scenarios. Amoy is passionate about bringing art to different audiences and produces public art in the form of murals and street art installations. She was recently commissioned by MTV Awards to create the trophies for the winners and her latest mural can be seen in Saatchi Gallery.

The artwork will highlight contributions of people who identify as neurodiverse in varied fields within the arts and sciences (medicine, design, engineering, maths, technology) but also of people who enable the success of our institutions through a range of supporting functions. Amoy is also very interested in research into neurodiversity. The work will illustrate the diverse range of people and skills that are needed to ensure creative and innovative ideas and ways of thinking. It will celebrate Exhibition Road is one of the world’s most exciting places to work, visit and explore innovation in the arts and sciences.

Public Art Trail continues across the area, with further sculptures displayed in Chelsea, Earl's Court, North Kensington. Follow the trail via our map.kcaw.co.uk
