Brompton Cemetery Poetry Corner
Zone 6 - Earl's Court
Fulham Rd, London SW10 9UG, UK
Mon-Sun | 7am-8pm
Brompton Cemetery is one of Britain’s oldest and most distinguished garden cemeteries. It combines historic monuments, trees and wildlife with the stories of the remarkable people buried here.
The Royal Parks is developing a new storytelling and learning area at Brompton Cemetery, and each season children aged 7-11 are invited to enter the seasonal poetry competitions.
As part of the KCAW21 poetry corner, the poems by the winning entries are displayed on the windows of the North Lodge Information Centre.
The short, 20-line poems are inspired by the sounds, smells and sights of walks in nature.
Words from the winning entries will be carved into stone and placed in the new storytelling area.
