As part of KCAW X Chelsea Windows, Mira Mikati presents a colourful installation by Yinka Ilori.
Ilori is a London-based multidisciplinary artist of a British- Nigerian heritage, who specialises in storytelling by fusing his British and Nigerian heritage to tell new stories in contemporary design. Humorous, provocative and fun, every project that he creates tells a story. Bringing Nigerian verbal traditions into playful conversation with contemporary design, Yinka Ilori’s work touches on urgent global themes that resonate with different audiences all over the world.

Featured in the store window, is a new print by Yinka Ilori, based on the #YINKAILORIFORNHS ‘Better Days Are Coming, I promise’ project, created by Ilori with KCAW and Jack Arts in response to COVID-19 in support of CW+, the official charity of the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Fashion designer Mira Mikati’s London store, called MIRA MIKATI’S HAPPY HOUSE, opened in March 2020. A rainbow hued retreat in the heart of Chelsea, this first flagship store from Mira Mikati exudes feel-better vibes that span fashion, food, art and experience.

Since launching her namesake brand in 2015, Mikati has put a whimsical spin on craftsmanship, creating wearable clothes imbued with style and smiles. Within this new, 74 square-meter store, she presents a full expression of her vision: a playground where shopping, re-energising, discovering and sharing will provide a constant supply of happiness. From artistic collaborations to exclusive juices, from special performances to collectible items, Mira Mikati brings her inspirations and passions together under one roof.
