Intermediate Interactions is a collaborative exhibition by Olivia Turner and William Braithwaite. The exhibition compares how two artists view and represent very similar subjects in their artwork. Focusing on the architectural legacy of Brutalism, conceived as a utopian form that emphasised the raw nature of manufactured materials of concrete, metal and glass.
Olivia and William explore the characteristics of Brutalist buildings and the plastic nature of the concrete forms the style produced, these are then integrated into their individual and collaborative work; paintings and sculptures which have geometry and structure at their core.
The Foundry Gallery exhibits contemporary art that explores relationships between art and architecture.
Established as part of Le Lay Architects, the gallery forms the foundation of the practices research into how architectural ideas are conceived and how people engage with buildings and structures.
