JAMES CAPPER: MOUNTAINEER PROTOTYPE
29 + 30 JUNE, 12–4PM
ZONE 5 – SOUTH KENSINGTON + GERF
The sculpture is part of James Capper’s EARTH MARKING series of mechanical sculpture, shown as part of KCAW19 in collaboration with the Great Exhibition Road Festival. MOUNTAINEER PROTOTYPE moves on four hydraulic legs. It adopts the techniques, materials and complex problem-solving processes of innovation and engineering to develop the possibilities of sculpture.
For two days, visitors will be able to view MOUNTAINEER PROTOTYPE in action, operated by Capper alongside artists and scientists from Imperial College and the Royal College of Art.
