Live sculpture creation by artists from the RAW collective (KarmaBank x Hot Stuff Studio)

How can we express ‘Freedom’ in a single sculpture? Artists from Refugee Art Works (RAW), an international collective of female artists fleeing war and oppressive gender inequality, will create a sculpture using found objects that expresses their feelings on Freedom, supported by local acclaimed artists Ros Burgin, Margit Wittig, Caroline Burraway, & Paprika Skala-Williams (Hot Stuff Studio), and filmmaker and founder of RAW & Karmabank, Andrew Standen-Raz. The tradition of using found objects in sculpture is long, from Marcel Duchamp’s fountain to Tracey Emin’s bed. The sculpture will be made at the new space for Hot Stuff Studio - a former car garage within a North Kensington regeneration zone. RAW is a project from Karmabank, a non-profit designing creative projects with influential organisations to make sustainable change, one human at a time.
