About

KCAW (Kensington + Chelsea Art Week) is a dynamic creative platform that celebrates and promotes the vibrant arts and culture scene in West London. The annual Kensington + Chelsea Art Week Festival and the KCAW Public Art Trail are both in their 7th editions, showcasing over 150 diverse cultural events over a 10-day period each summer. At KCAW, we are committed to creating an inclusive space for artists and institutions of all sizes to thrive.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Deputy Director to play a pivotal role in strengthening our existing partnerships, forging new relationships, and crafting a forward-looking 3-year strategy that aligns with the unique needs of our local community and addresses global challenges.

As the Deputy Director, you will serve as an ambassador for the rich creative tapestry represented by our member organizations and individuals participating in Art Week activities. This role involves engaging with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, leading the festival's Advisory Board, and contributing to the innovative curation and support of our annual Art Week programming.

Working in collaboration with the current Director of Art Week, Vestalia Chilton, you will assume increasing responsibility with a view to eventually taking over her role. The Deputy Director will be the face of KCAW, engaging with local and national political figures, council members, local residents, and executives from our partner institutions.

This part-time position offers flexible office hours and encourages remote work, although a deep understanding of member institutions and their work is essential. Given its representative nature, the Deputy Director will be expected to attend breakfast and evening meetings and events where KCAW's presence is required.

The full job description is available from our director. Please contact vestalia@kcaw.co.uk
