Nestled in the leafy neighbourhood of Holland Park, Leighton House is the former studio-home of Victorian artist Frederic, Lord Leighton (1830-1896). The house became a public museum in 1926 and is currently celebrating its centenary through a celebratory programme of exhibitions, displays, events and community outreach.

Admission

£5 workshop tickets

With the tile and mosaic animals of Leighton's Arab Hall looking on, learn how to make splitpin puppets and then work together to create one big animation, bringing this iconic room to life.

 

The workshop includes time to view the newly commissioned film, 'When the Tiles Spoke' by award-winning Syrian filmmaker, Soudade Kaadan, which features as part of the museum's major exhibition, The Arab Hall: Past and Present.

  • Workshop for young people aged 11 – 16 years old.
  • Workshop is unaccompanied and drop off.
  • The workshop will take place in the Learning Centre at Leighton House.
  • Tickets for the workshop (£5, plus booking fee) include admission to the museum for young people workshop participants.
