The Monsoon Art Collection is a collection of modern and contemporary art, it is one of the world's largest private collections. It was established by Monsoon and Accessorize founder Peter Simon in 2000.

What is on view?


There are four David Hockney pictures from his collection entitled the Arrival of Spring. Draw on location on an iPad. The pictures depict various locations around Hockney’s childhood home of Woldgate, West Yorkshire.

 

Adjacent to these is a wondrous piece by Carsten Toller. Mirror Carousel was created in 2005 and formed part of his most famous exhibition to date, at the Tate Modern. It is made from steel, mirrors and lights. It is a joy to behold.

 

There is a giant Jeff Koons piece entitled Baroque Egg & Bow. It is from his world-famous collection entitled Celebration and was created in 1994.

 

There are also works by Kimsooja, Bayrle, Bridget Riley, Anothy Gormley, Philip King and Ligon.
