Beautiful artwork in a beautiful setting. Paintings and prints by Irene Sanderson chime with ceramics by Bridget Drakeford in the gem gallery of the little Ice House, a cool venue for an exhibition of two lifetimes of skill and creativity.

The fluidity of porcelain is mastered to take on the classical forms of European and Oriental traditions of basic simplicity. Firings may reduction or oxidised and wood and precious metals are used for finely detailed fixings. Bridget is an award-winning ceramicist and the finesse of finish and fine hues have made her work very collectable and much sought after.

Irene Sanderson works on paper with ink and watercolour incorporating methods and techniques of East Asian sumi-e painting and calligraphy. Immediacy and energy of line join with the action of the saturated colours in studies of London and the Lake District landscapes and life. She is also showing paintings from her collection Shrines based on the Shintō shrines of Japan.
