CHERRY BLOSSOM CHRNICLES CONTENT NOTE

Inspired by a collaboration with a Japanese whisky company, "Cherry Blossom Chronicles" marks a new direction in my work. This series, encompassing four paintings – the triptych” Timeless Blooms," "The Gaze," and” Whispering Blooms" – delves into Japanese culture through the merging of traditional and digital art techniques.

In this innovative exploration, cherry blossoms transform into ethereal eyes, symbolizing renewal, and humanity's connection with nature. Each artwork, meticulously crafted with a blend of mediums, captures the intricate details of these blossom-eyes. They invite viewers to contemplate shared experiences under their gentle gaze.

"Cherry Blossom Chronicles" evokes reflection on the fleeting beauty of nature and the enduring cycle of renewal. The blossoms act as witnesses, their gaze blending fragility and hope as they observe the stories unfolding beneath them.

Nanda's artistic expression intertwines nature's essence with human experiences, offering a profound exploration of renewal, connection, and time's passage. The fusion of traditional and digital art techniques not only honours Japan's rich artistic heritage but also embraces contemporary methods, mirroring the country's cultural ethos of balancing tradition and innovation. This meticulous process, evident in the delicate brushstrokes alongside ethereal digital elements, reflects the harmony between past and present.

Each piece within "Cherry Blossom Chronicles" serves as a testament to the beauty and complexity of Japanese culture. From the delicate details to the ethereal presence of floating eyes, every aspect is imbued with reverence for Japanese traditions. By infusing the essence of cherry blossoms with digital imagery, Nanda creates a visual tapestry that captures the essence of Japan and invites viewers on a journey through its rich cultural landscape.

TIMELESS BLOOM (TRIPTYCH)

A canvas bathed in tradition. This sole acrylic and ink painting within the series depicts cherry blossoms in a more classical style. Unlike its counterparts, it embraces a purely traditional medium. Despite the lack of digital elements, the blossoms themselves hold a sense of timelessness, their delicate beauty defying the passage of seasons. This piece stands as a testament to the enduring power of nature's artistry.

THE GAZE

The final piece in the "Cherry Blossom Chronicles" series, culminates in a powerful gaze that transcends the fleeting beauty of the cherry blossoms. Nanda utilizes mixed media, including photography, fine art, and digital elements, to create a woman adorned in a dress of blossoms. Her direct gaze captivates the viewer, inviting a deeper reflection on the impermanence of nature and the enduring human spirit. The vibrant colours and swirling patterns evoke a sense of both movement and stillness, underscoring the cyclical nature of life and renewal.
