Do certain places make you remember how you felt there once before?

Join our walking tour around North Kensington reconnecting with THE SIGNS, a work led by artist Anton Mirto and produced with Ailbhe Murphy in 2022, mapping local people’s emotional connections to specific places in North Kensington through 40 street signs.

Three years on, the tour led by Alberto Duman, (artist, writer, formerly Senior Lecturer at Middlesex University), will visit & give new readings to some of the project's remaining signs that capture the disparate memories of North Kensington residents, in the places where feelings were once had, or are still being had.

From the sublime to the ridiculous, the signs reflect the depth and breadth of participants’ lives, backgrounds and communities, forming an emotional cartography of the area.

Each sign starts with ‘In this place’ or ‘A place where’

Throughout the tour, participants will have the opportunity to consider the places where their own memories are imprinted and perhaps still felt, in their urban landscape.
